Viet Nam will reduce the total capacity of coal-fired thermal power plants from 2020 until 2030, according to the National Steering Committee for Electricity Development.
Viet Nam imported about 23 million tonnes of coal between the beginning of the year and July 15 worth US$2.17 billion, according to the General Department of Customs.
Capital demand for building infrastructure of the electricity industry
is increasing, but the industry still has difficulty in gaining access
to it, stated Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN).
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has requested Electricity of Viet
Nam (EVN) to ensure power supplies for the country this year, while
also improving its service.
